A brainchild of Deji Irawo, the Chief Responsibility Officer (De
Kings vision LTD owners of X2D), X2D started five years ago as a
contemporary gospel entertainment TV programme showcasing high quality
content to viewers across Nigeria with the aim of providing quality,
edifying content and winning souls for Christ.
The channel’s initial terrestrial broadcast was on the HI Life
channel of HITV in July 2008 and OGTV the same year. Thereafter, X2D has
broadcasted on over 40 TV stations across Africa and the UK.
Speaking at the recent official press conference of the 24 hour
channel,CEO of X2D, Mr Deji Irawo said, “It’s only natural that we
should become a 24-hour channel. That’s the trend in the world now and
we had to follow the trend, not just because it’s the trend, but because
it will help us better in our aim of spreading the Word of God faster
and better.
“Also, the increase in demand for our daily content across various
TV stations, the rise in the obscenity on TV channels, emergence of
multitudes of gifted gospel artists in our communities, the need to
preserve our families and raise a generation for Christ and our resolve
to create a more excellent brand brought us to the point where we just
had to make the shift to a 24-hour channel to be viewed across Africa
and the world.”
He also announced renowned Gospel Artiste, Kenny K’ore (of Infinity
group) as the channel’s brand ambassador. The conference was well
attended by members of the press as well as notable personalities such
as Mr Ayoola Jolayemi of SwiftThink Limited & Pastor Taiwo Lemoshe.
Amongst those in attendance from the Nigerian Gospel Music Industry
include; Olufunmi, RighteousMan, Nikki Laoye, IGE (Project Fame Vocal
Coach), Sola Allyson, Joe Praize, DJ Gosporella.

24 Hour Channel is positioned to be Africa’s first Gospel inspired
